Status Update: Injured

When I started Noodle Arm Disc Golf, one of the reasons I cited for people not being able to throw far was injury.

So, I find it relatively ironic that my noodliness (it’s a word…now) has been accentuated by my own injury.

Due to some combination of being a dedicated runner, poor throwing form, and sleeping on my side, my left hip has been flared up for about a month. My chiropractor says it has something to with my iliac crest, and I can’t get into my doctor until May.

Without this turning into a sob story, here’s the long and short of it: I haven’t played a round of disc golf since the beginning of March, and I don’t know if that is going to change anytime soon.

And, yes, it’s making me a bit stir crazy.

For the time being, then, I am on the shelf, which likely means no new reviews here at the Noodle. Which is a huge bummer, because I have a tremendous stack of plastic built up and ready to test, and I’ve got nothing in the tank.

I would like to take this opportunity, then, to thank the fine companies who let me review their products. Off the top of my head, I have discs from Latitude 64, Dynamic Discs, MVP Disc Sports, Axiom Discs, DGA Discs and Discraft all waiting to fly. I appreciate that these companies are patient with me and haven’t hounded me for not seeing their products given the review treatment yet. As soon as I am able, they’ll all take to the skies.

Lucky for you, reader, there are a myriad of other disc golf outposts on the internet to hold you over while I’m on the shelf. If you’d like, please head over and check out my work at Ultiworld Disc Golf, where we are working to crank out almost-daily disc golf content. I’ve also put a Links section at the top of the site, here, with some of my favorite disc golf writers being highlighted.

Thanks for your patience, and please get out and throw for me. I’m getting the shakes here without some plastic in my hands, but hopefully I’ll be back on the course soon.
